Bretton Woods Recreation Center

I visited my friend Prasanna today. Prasanna and I worked together on several projects at work, before his recent retirement. He invited me to the Bretton Woods Recreation Center, located in Germantown, Maryland.

Today was the first time riding the metro in over a year. I am fully vaccinated and still felt unsafe riding public transportation. I rode the Metro from Gallery Pl-Chinatown metro station to Shady Grove station. During my 14 stops, I saw many people on their way to work. I was filled with mixed emotions and didn’t know how to feel.

We went to the Bretton Woods clubhouse to grab lunch after Prasanna picked me up. It was filled with World Bank and IMF retirees, and I hope that I can be in their position one day.

Overall, it was great to see Prasanna again after his retirement. He shared a wealth of war stories and his experience at the Bank. I was also glad to see that he was enjoying his retirement.
